Recently we were called upon by a young couple in Nazareth, PA who were looking for a way to make their "Cape Cod" style home more comfortable. By design, these types of homes have a tendency to be very hot in the summer and expensive to heat in the winter. The good news is we have fixed dozens of homes like these and we know exactly how to get the best results. For this home the best solution was to spray insulate the back of the short walls on the second floor, dense pack the ceiling and loose fill the small attic area's with cellulose and spray insulate the roof in one small storage area. Now this home is much more comfortable and far more efficient year round!
These homeowners had an attic that needed insulation badly in their Cape Cod. A tricky attic is always a treat for us. Knee wall areas can get messy, but our technician handled them with ease. We look forward to seeing the energy costs they save with our insulation. Great project to be apart of!
We received a phone call from Joanna who was looking for ways to save money and make her home more comfortable. We suggested completing a full home energy assessment so we could get a better understanding on what is going on throughout the home. Although her home was only about 10 years old, we were able to see area's that could be greatly improvement. One of these area's was the upstairs ceiling (attic floor). We were able to see large air leaks and missing insulation during the energy assessment with our thermal camera. We suggested air sealing and insulating the attic with our TruSoft cellulose insulation. The homeowner still wanted to be able to store items in the attic so we created a 10 x 10 fully insulated storage area. We also built dams to hold back the cellulose and keep the attic nice and clean. We also spray insulated the basement and installed our patented CleanSpace Crawlspace Encapsulation system in the crawlspace under the home. Now the house is more comfortable, more energy efficient and ready for the coldest winters and hottest summer!
Another nasty, inefficient attic transformed. All the old insulation was removed and the attic was air sealed. We then installed an insulated storage deck, sealed the whole house fan and blew in 16" of clean TruSoft cellulose to achieve an R60! Now this home has another 600 square feet of usable storage and is far more efficient. This project will pay for itself in just a few years.
